PSP. Sheer awesomeness in a box. I could go on and on about how great this device it, but I'll try to keep it short and simple. It is an MP3 player, movie player, image displayer, video game player with PS2 level graphics, internet browsing, wifi gaming, MACHINE. Need I say more? It has approximately 3-6 hour battery life, depending on game complexity, song play rate, and movie length, plus with the wifi gaming, you can take it anywhere there is wireless internet, such as your local Starbucks or perhaps your house, and play it. The graphics are so good, my dad thought he was watching a movie when I showed it to him. I currently have Spiderman 2 in movie format and the game and Twisted Metal: Head On for my PSP. Both of these are very good games, but are relatively short due to being 'launch games'. I am anticipating the release of Grand Thaft Auto and will be borrowing Untold Legends from a friend this weekend, so that should be good too. These MACHINES run for around $240 to $270 in the US and I strongly suggest that everyone at the least check one out. It'll blow you away.
**Update** The PSP now has an Internet Browser. So anywhere you can pick up a signal, such as a wireless Hot Spot or a place that has a wifi connection, you can get on the internet and go the same places you would at home.
Coded Arms --
Coded Arms is the latest release for the PSP gaming system. It came out in early July and so far is the first and only first person shooter game for the PSP. The story takes place inside an old computer database that was designed for military combat training. The project never quite got off the ground and so was left there for many years. During this time period, bots and soldiers multiplied within the system. Now 'hackers' are trying to go in and fix the system. This is your job as a 'hacker'. The gmaplay is pretty good for this game, however it does not live up to all of the hype about this game. The PSP was forced to adjust the controls because of the lack of a second analog stick. Now the X, 0, triangle, and square buttons act as the second analog stick. As you go through levels, you to try and kill all enemies, collect all of the hacks, and make it through all of the stages of the levels itself. As you go through these levels, you will pick up new weapons and upgrade keys, a certain number of which is required before you can upgrade your weapon. You can increase your health as you gain experience too. Considering that this is the first first person shooter game out for PSP, it is not all that bad, but it has a long way to go before it can live up to games like SOCOM and Medal of Honor. Overall, I would give Coded Arms a B rating for decent graphics and decent gameplay.
Hot Shots Golf --
I got Hot Shots Golf Open Tee the other day because it looked good and addicting, but mainly because I had for the most part beaten all of my other games. All of my other games will be expanded as soon as I get access to some online play, but that won't be for a few weeks. So anyways, this is a fantastic game. While the graphics are not amazing or anything, the game play is really good and its not a game that can be beaten in three or four days. It has multiple courses that you can open, with both a 'long tee' and a 'short tee' to hit from. There are also many characters as well as weird additions that can be made to enhance a character's appearnace, such as clothing, accesories, or hats. You also have to work to unlock new characters and new sets of clubs or balls. The online version allows up to eight players at a time play an eighteen hole course. I can't wait to get my PSP online and see what I can do.
Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade --
Untold Legends is an excellent game. I have heard some say that they get bored with it very quickly because there aren't enough combos, but that is not completely true. As your character levels up, you gain more skills and thus more combos andmore options of things to do. While the graphics may be lacking, the gameplay is incredible. You can choose from four different characters, level them as you defeat bosses and travel through new worlds. And when you've experienced most of the worlds in the game, there's always online play. While I haven't been able to experience online play yet for any of my games, I can only imagine that Untold Legends will amazing because you get to fight alongside three other people at the same time. I can not wait to try this. And yes, I did go out and buy this game after borrowing it from a friend.
Gmail is the best kind of email that exists, period. Over 2750 MB (2.69 GB) of storage space, which I guarantee very few will ever use, can be used to store anything you want. It includes many features such as labeling email conversations, 'starring' more important emails, the ability to archive all emails that likely will never have to be deleted, and the ability to search all the emails that have ever been sent or received. It's fabulous for those of you who need lots of space or for those of you like me who just enjoy having that space there for no reason at all. With all the space offered, you could even use multiple accounts as an online backup storage base for your hard drive. I have around 100 to offer, so if you want one, just email me below and put 'invite' in the subject line.
